In our AAC Support Groups, we discuss issues they struggle with and everyone will tell them what each of us have done in those situations or give them ideas of things they could do or say to help them advocate for themselves. Our goal is to encourage self advocacy, no one else knows what they are feeling and their struggles so they need to make others understand. By having AAC support groups, our students can interact with others who are the same age and communicates the same as they do.
